We have been home from China for a little over a month. (It seems like longer!) Rebecca is settling in and seems to be doing well on her attachment. She is progressing well with her English. She is really starting to pick up words and phrases! Having four small children has been really challenging, to say the least. The boys were happy with Rebecca for about the first couple of weeks, and now they must think it's O.K. to lay out their aggression on her when they are the least bit annoyed with her. Fighting amongst the three of them is the biggest issue right now.
Rebecca has been to her pediatrician three times, the pediatric cardiologist, and the International Adoption Clinic. We are scheduled to visit a pediatric ophthalmologist and a pediatric ENT this month. We go back to the IAC in December. Her cardiology appointment revealed no surprises. She has a 15 mm ASD (atrial septal defect) which will require repair. It is an elective procedure, so we are thinking that she will have it done in the spring at UAB. She also has an ear infection that won't go away, hence the ENT appointment.
I have also had to take the boys to the pediatrician for check-ups and shots, and Henry had a little accident that required taking him to an urgent care center for some dermabond to his forehead. That's the second time the poor kid has had a head injury!
We have been to Tate Farms, but sorry, no pictures! It's probably for the best that we didn't take any because last year when I paused for 30 seconds to grab the camera, we lost William for 30 minutes!
I haven't yet mentioned Vivian. Well, she is just as cute as ever and is beginning to talk! She is 17 months, so it's about time! We have got her saying, "Roll Tide," although it sounds more like "oh tie!" Too cute! She is such a sweet and easy-going baby. She is a GOOD sleeper and she lights up my morning when I see that smile.
I'm hoping to get a camera this weekend, so I can start posting pictures!
